September Yard of the Month – 2222 Fairmount
Our choice for September yard of the month is the lush landscape enhancing the bungalow home of John and Brenda Howell. In the six short months since moving to Fairmount, Brenda has completely transformed the yard to a tropical-style paradise.
The porch rail is lined with Pitosporum and Oleander as well as Elephant Ears that Brenda brought with her from her previous home. Purple Leafed Oxalis, lavender flowering Mexican Petunias, Pink Dianthus and Pink Potted Gerbera Daisies add color and enhance the soft mauve house exterior. Rustic tumbled pavers form a curved path from the driveway to the front walk.
The wrap-around porch is comfortably furnished with layered area rugs, a mixture of shabby chic wood and wicker, and a tile-topped iron bistro table with matching chairs. Ferns, in an eclectic mix of planters, line the front steps, while oversized house numbers and lantern style porch lights round out the decor.
